Santorini!!

A ferry strike made our ferry unusually crowded for this time of year, as it was the first in some days, but we still enjoyed our 7 hour trip from Athens to the unforgettable island of Santorini.
(Chilling on the ferry)

We snagged seats outside, thankfully it was a sunny day, and we watch islands pass until we reached our destination Santorini, which was incredible: Villas and whatnot built right into the cliffs.

(The approach)
The island was circular, but the volcano in the middle exploded back in the 1600s, and so the towns have been rebuilt dramatically into the cliffs.
(the island in the photo below is the crater of the volcano)
It definitely capitalizes off of tourism, but for good reason. We even rented a car one day and toured some of the less visited areas. It was incredibly fun to zip around the tiny curvy streets. We saw some amazing things.
Notes about Greece: The people are incredibly hospitable. Its a strange combo of a developed country yet with aspects that make you say, "really??"

Many more photos from Santorini to come but right now my battery is dying and the internet is being sketchy. . .so until later!
